April 12 - Cosmonautics Day

This day changed a lot. It attracted the attention of the whole world to the Soviet cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, who flew into outer space. April 12 is Cosmonautics Day in Russia.

Of course, Cosmos Hotel cannot stand aside on this day, because we owe our name, among other things, to the flight of Yuri Gagarin. The windows of many rooms overlook the famous alley of astronauts and the monument to the Conquerors of Space.

Not far from the hotel is the legendary “Cosmonautics Museum”, a visit to which on April 12 will be especially symbolic.

In addition, close by is VDNKh - a favorite recreation place for guests and residents of the capital. On the Cosmonautics Day, the main exhibition of the country is going to host many thematic activities.

The center of the holiday will be the "Cosmonautics and Aviation" pavilion. At 11:00 everyone will be able to write here the “Cosmic dictation” to demonstrate his or her knowledge of space.

On April 12, free guided tours will be held at VDNH every hour.

Art lovers will be able to visit the “Winners” exhibition by photo-artist Maxim Ivanov, which is dedicated to schoolchildren who are winners of the All-Russian Astronomy Olympiad.

Later on, a public discussion on the future of space will be held in the Polytechnic Museum in pavilion No.26.

April 12 to 14, the volunteer festival “Time to Space” will also be held at VDNKh, which will include lectures, master classes, film screenings and creative meetings.
